In this tutorial you'll export a design from Railyard, ready to import into NetBox or Nautobot, and hand it over to the installers.
Open Export from the left tool rail. The list has two groups: outputs you import into a tool, and sheets for the installers.
Choose NetBox. Railyard checks the design straight away: here it says ready to export, then lists warnings, such as power strips with mixed outlet types. You can include devices with an unrecognised type as generic placeholders, and you pick the NetBox version you're importing into, because front ports changed in version four point five.
The bundle is a zip of numbered CSV files, plus an import guide. Download it, then import the files in filename order, from manufacturers through to cables.
Nautobot works the same way, with a twenty-file bundle. One difference: Nautobot can't create cables from a CSV, so the bundle includes a small Python script that creates them last.
If you use Nautobot Design Builder, there's a bundle for that too. And Railyard JSON is the whole project in one file, free on every plan.
Now the installers. Choose Build pack and pick its scope: a rack, a row, a data centre or the whole estate. There's also an installer checklist option, with boxes to fill in on site. Download the PDF.
The build pack is a printable PDF. For this estate it runs to twenty-seven pages: the outstanding design issues, rack elevations, the cable schedule, power connections and the topology.
The same list holds working sheets as CSV: the cable schedule, cable labels, optics and DACs to order, the power schedule and power cords. Download whichever the team needs.
NetBox, Nautobot and the installer sheets are deliverables, which come with the paid plans. The free Community plan has the whole design workspace, and can open a build pack preview. The same exports also run from the command line and the API, for pipelines.
