In this tutorial you'll use Design review to catch problems in a design before they reach the floor.
We've added a switch and a server to the core rack. The amber badge on Review counts the warnings, and it follows the rack up the tree. Open Review.
Each finding is an error, a warning or a note. Errors are serious enough to break an export.
Findings are grouped by type, here power warnings and fabric notes. Switch to By rack to see them per rack, or filter by device name to find one.
Select a finding and Railyard jumps to the device at fault. The one-click fix starts the connection for you.
Pick the power supply, then an outlet. The warning clears, but Review spots something new: the switch is fed by a single PDU.
Use the new one-click fix to connect the second power supply to the other PDU. Now the switch has two independent feeds.
For the server, try Auto-connect power. It previews the load on each PDU, then connects every free inlet in one go.
One warning left: the server's power demand is unknown. Choose Set demand and enter its draw from the datasheet. Back in Review, the warnings are gone and only notes remain.
A clear review isn't a fully checked design. Under What was checked, cabling and fabric are covered, power, airflow and physical only partly, and weight not at all until a rack has a load limit.
Next, hand the design off with the Export tutorial. Try it free at railyard.sh.
